Before Listen to My Audio Portrait
Italian Family And M e
Just Arrived in Canada
I felt anxious when I had just arrived at their house. I was too shy to speak English, so I often tried to practice English with them during breakfast every morning. I lived in an Italian family with my friends during my significant high school life. John and Yolanda treated us as their grandchildren, and we had a good relationship until today. Here are some throwbacks memories below !!

After Few Months
I used to join their family activities like making pasta, easter cookies, and baking. This did not mean I had already gotten used to the new environment here. But I tried my best to participate in their events.
2017 -- Now
I moved to Ottawa and have continued my education at Carleton since 2019. Sometimes, I still miss my Italian family in daily life. Then, Yolanda always calls me once a week and understands my anxiety with my assignments.
Home for me, just feeling, remembering. When I was in a bad mood, Grandma constantly contacted me and supported me daily. When the day I moved out of the house, I missed them every moment, every day, every year.
